Death’s Handmaiden 8, Gods and Monsters, will be out by the end of this month, probably on the weekend before the end of the month. (As an aside: January 2025! Where did 2024 go?) The young lady above will be appearing in it, if briefly. Look forward to bigger explosions and the revelation of a new threat likely to result in really amazingly big explosions! Plus, in non-explosion news, marriage is on the cards for someone, and that someone might not be who you expect.

Holy shit! OK, it can’t get here soon enough for me. This has become one of my top 2 favorites series. So, is she the last of the 5 Handmaidens that Nava thought were dead? Since we all expect Melissa and Naomi to get married, I’m thinking something changed for Nava and Mitsuko. Unless Carina is going to marry Yaeko. Whatever the case, this is the best news I’ve had in a while.

Excellent news! I’m intrigued by the young lady in the illustration having “California” on her apparel. I’d have expected the American states to have long been forgotten.

Changing series… Have you done any artwork for the Rapid Response Unit (RRUs) bots that feature in various Fox books? As an engineer I’ve got a few mental pictures based on the descriptions in the books but I wondered what the creator thought they looked like?
I don’t think I have. I have this image in my head, but it probably wouldn’t be functional. The wings would likely be too short. They’d have to rely on vertical fans to keep airborne which might not be practical.
I was thinking they might use vectored thrust nozzles, like a Harrier fighter. Tho having been close to one of those as it came in for a close to VTOL landing it might be a bit violent for use on city rooftops like Sam’s house 🙂
Yeah, I’ve been close to a landing Harrier. Loud. I remember it being loud.
I was thinking downward-facing fans for lift and conventional jet engines for forward flight. Makes things safer when hovering and landing.
