Status Update – Oct/Now 24 – And some pics!

So, what am I up to?

Well, I’m still writing the next Death’s Handmaiden book. It’s still going to be a while before it’s out, unfortunately. I'[d like to get it out for Christmas, but I think it’s going to be January/February at this point. I have been making rather better progress recently because it looked like my father was doing better and could handle being on his own for a while. And now he’s back in hospital with suspected heart problems. At this point, we’re kind of waiting to see what happens, and I’m plotting out Part Four because it helps get my mind off my dad.

While I’m here, I’m now on BlueSky for those wanting to ditch X/Twitter. Search for WitchesAndRayGuns. Hopefully, this post will be the first thing on my feed there. (If WordPress get their act together. Might have to do it manually. See how it goes…)

My graphics work has really suffered over the last few months, simply because the machine I use for graphics has been at home while I’ve been at my dad’s place. I actually forgot how to use the software! So, I’ve been working my way back into it as best I can with some easy stuff. I figured you might appreciate the images. Don’t take these as any indication of something which happens in any of the books, I was just checking out some outfits and relearning the software.

I’ll let you know when I have more news. I hope it’ll be good news, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit mixed. Such is life.

  1. I sorry here things are still not great for your Dad. I can empathise as i am dealing with heath issues for both of my parents. It’s very draining. I look forward to your next book.

    Stay positive

  2. I’m past positive and into just staying zen. πŸ™‚

  3. take your time man, although if writing is a good emotion break hit it. When my mum had a stroke looking after her was emotional, and mid college (good timing).

Try talking to people who’ve been there (you OR your dad’s spot), when mum had a stroke (left arm unusable after) one of the most helpfull conversations I’ve had was a random amputee in a bar (left hand missing) 2 weeks later.

there’s better ways to set up a conversation but people who’ve been there will generally help. Good luck dude, hope your dad’s OK.

  4. Sad news about your dad.

Good news that you are still able to do some writing and art.

I hope everything works out as well as possible.
