  1. Fun read. Felt a bit like Misfits sprinkled with a bit of Clan Worlds and Fallen. Any chance of more in this universe or was it planned as strictly a stand alone?

    • As always, it depends upon reception. The idea is/was to do more. I actually came up with the plot for the next book yesterday. I’m not sure when that’ll happen, but it seems like it’ll happen.

Sci-fi next. Well, one after next. Elementary 2 is next. Apparently, sci-fi is popular at the moment, so I’m going to start a ‘definitely planned as a series’ I’ve been working on for a few months.

    • Honestly, I’d rather like to read the third part of Misfits.

  2. Only comment is “Squirrel!”

  3. Meh, can’t cheat and buy the .de English version. 😦

    • Amazon is mean like that. Which territory are you in? If I don’t currently list it, I’ll start. The ones I list are just the ones I know people hail from.

      • I’m in the large prior territory in the New World, served by .com, which I believe is the one you were grumbling about.

        Still appears to be unavailable.

      • I’m away from home, but I’ll try to look into it.

Edit: but I doubt they’ll do anything until 3 days after I submitted it.

Edit again: Yup, they won’t do anything until the 72 hours is up. Arguing with some guy in India when there’s nothing he can do about it is a waste of my time and his, so I’m leaving it and will keep monitoring. I’m sorry for the delay. Really sorry because, you know, this is how I earn my money! I’ll be checking back with Amazon in 48 hours.

      • I was able to get to it in the .com area by following the US Amazon link you provided. I usually have to do this if I don’t want to wait for a few days as it takes forever for your new books to show up via the Amazon search engine…

      • Yeah. I’m used to it taking a while to hit the search engine. It’s usually pretty fast on the link. But not this time. 😦

    • Hi there. Could you check amazon.com and see whether the book is available? Amazon say it is.

      • Don,t think it’s available yet. Just tried it with a VPN from both a Dutch and US location and neither gave me the option to buy.

Just “This titel is currently unavailable”

        Gr Cloak

      • It seems to be. Or people have magically been able to buy it without buying it. Report says that it’s selling in that region. If anyone is still having trouble, let me know.

  4. Thanks for another interesting world. I hope you visit it again. I be interested in seeing the characters and world evolve.

  5. Good read. Thank you for giving us one male character, who does not turn out to be stupid or evil πŸ™‚

And, well, it is a Magic School and parallels to others are most likely unavoidable. At least the first-class-students didn’t solve the problem on their own.

Will you drop some images from the book?

  6. Hi Love the book grate story.

Just a question but the book eeminds me of the anime “Wise Man’s Grandchild” was this an Inspiration or am i see ing conections where there are non.

    • I can safely say that that series did not cross my mind at any point while writing this one. I can see where you’re coming from, but only in hindsight.

I’ve watched that one a few times. It’s actually got some interesting elements in it regarding the application of real-world science to magic. And the romance is both cute and not dragged out across fourteen seasons just because the author didn’t want to commit. I do kind of hate the voice acting when they get serious, however. Someone told the male VAs to sound badass and they really just don’t.

      • well i love the Book etherway and i got to the last Chapter befor noticing anything.

      • Like I said, I do see where you’re coming from. The positions are a bit switched. Kori is something of a prodigy, raised in the woods by her mother (rather than her ‘grandfather’), but she’s got a long way to go before she’s more powerful than Samina. And the circumstances of her birth, which you only know part of, are significantly different.

  7. Can’t wait to read this one πŸ™‚ Absolutely love the intricate details on the cover…like the ceiling and the marble floor tiles.

@ ‘semi-steamy content’ : can’t really force this kind of stuff…doing so most often results in a very mediocre (or worse) story…some stories don’t require it at all ( as proven by Niall).

*cough* that said, reading how the characters -exceedingly slowly- work themselves up like a bunch of electrical dynamos is always quite entertaining…’Mr Teas’ (a.k.a. the ‘Innuendo-master’) at work…

Take care of yourself Niall πŸ™‚

    • I take no credit for the set. It’s a Stonemason set ‘The Gothic Library.’ He’s my favourite environment modeller. Always does exceptional work. All I did was the composition. I could even use the default lighting without tweaking it. I really wanted an outside shot with some sort of Gothic building behind them, but I just don’t have a suitable environment. That said, putting them in a corridor works better for a book cover, so it worked out in the end.
