  1. Yay!

That cover reminds me of some of the Aneka books.

  2. Got my copy.

    Gr Cloak

  3. Already finished it, great story as always!

  4. This one was interesting. The last part felt more like a set up for the the next book than just a build up to the end. Good stuff!

    • I think the next book will go back to more normal murders and such. Except for one aspect I won’t spoil, but that’s on the funny side rather than the dramatic.
I may be setting up some future stuff, of course… Or not. I’m enigmatic. 🙂

  5. Sorry, but I can’t see anything apart from the book title. Am I the only one?

    • I’m going to assume you mean the cover image. I think it depends on your monitor. I thought it was too light when I was composing it, but I figured that was good. It looks too dark on the screen I’m typing this on. I can’t win.

      • Perhaps you can release two versions of it… My monitor normally shows normal colors on other pictures.

      • I can maybe lighten the image. I’ll take a look at it tomorrow.

      • PS: Back from my holiday and looking on my 4K monitor at home. I can see some more details in the background, but the figure is still totally black. The same is true for my (b/w) eBook reader.

      • I put an updated cover up yesterday. It should be available on all platforms by now. I’d imagine you’d need to download again since it won’t get pushed out. It’s better. I’m not sure how much better, but it’s better.

      • Thanks for the new cover. I can now see that the woman has some exposed skin 🙂 But it’s still far darker than most covers from books I own.

  6. LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!

No spoilers, but OMG that ending!

I SO wish real life politics could be less of a mess at times, but OMG, Tatsu’s… um… solution to politics is a bit over the top! Not for the faint of heart, for sure!

That said? I BET the next book will have some serious zingers! I am looking forward to seeing how the various women in Tatsu’s life handle this.

  7. And there was much rejoicing! I was afraid that my reading would be reduced to badly written dungeon porn.

The cover does look a bit dark on my fire tablet. I’m not sure it is your image or the results after Amazon processes it to fit the digital world.

The part about earthquakes reminded me of the ones we get in Vegas. Never too strong, nothing like California. Sometimes the only way we know one is hitting is when my wife’s wind chimes start playing in the kitchen without any wind. It is a very unsettling feeling to be in one.

In any event I’m enjoying it very much.

  8. Wonderful book. I just finished it. My favorite series was the Fox books, but Tatsu seems to have overtaken them. I wish there had been a way to cross over. Please take a deep bow.

    • I have one more Fox book to write at some point. It’s a tough one, however, and I still haven’t figured out the plot.
A crossover would be difficult. They’re rather different worlds.

      • I could see both of them doing a cameo in a dimension-hopping Aneka plot. Iirc, you mentioned Aneka and Ella doing Star Trek. 😉
I can’t recognize anything on the Tatsu cover, but I loved the book. I did not see that ending coming at all.

  9. Art Dump 🙂

    Also : Neat cover design

  10. I certainly enjoyed this book. Even though the ending wasn’t as big a surprise since you hint at Tatsu knowing more than she was giving on. Look forward to your next book, always enjoy exploring a new universe.

It would seem you have seen the future again. An earthquake in Japan. You are going to have to be careful with your predictions.

    • I’ve been watching the reports and I had not connected the two. Huh. My earthquake was on the other coast and, thankfully, this one seems to have resulted in fewer casualties than the fictional one. More generically, I’m starting to worry that my climate change ‘predictions’ may not have been bad enough…
