First impression – I’m disappointed. I just started reading it, but given my experience with Thaumatology and the description I was hoping to see an actual scientist, not the standard religious zealot we see in most fiction masquerading as a scientist and going on about how they don’t believe in magic, when they have blatant evidence in front of them some phenomena they don’t understand actually exists.
Sure such people do exist in RL, and I haven’t dropped the book, but its not what I was hoping for.
Just finished reading it, I really enjoyed it, now I am very conflicted on which books I would like next, a sequel to this one, a sequel to the last one you wrote, the next deaths handmadian tale or next fox book
Of those youve listed Id go with Fox. If Im remembering right the next Fox book is supposed to be the last, and it would be nice to get the conclusion. Personally Id prefer to see some conclusions to older series or single books, especially Ultrahumans. The Guardians are a big threat on the horizon and it just feels like the series is sitting on a cliffhanger. For newer stuff Ill go with Tatsu or Deaths handmaiden, either is good. None of the other books in the last few years has really grabbed me, and I honestly prefer when an author sticks to a few ongoing series and interspersed stand alones rather than shotgunning a bunch of new “series” that dont go anywhere and are left hanging with plotlines unresolved.
I really enjoyed this one. The world you built and the rules is fantastic. I did have one question about a small section but don’t know if I should mention it here. Not a criticism, just working out things in my mind.
Book doesn’t come up on Amazon USA.
Tried author name, book title, and ASIN#.

That is a very good cover image. Looking forward to reading the book. Glad you got through the writers lego. 🙂

Agreed, Ultrahumans needs its Infinity War / Endgame.
This was good, and I’d enjoy seeing more of Calista. Or Tatsu.
Art dump please.
Yeah, I realised this morning that I hadn’t done one.
By the end of the week.

If it’s spoilery, ask on the art dump post. People will likely have read the book before viewing that. But please mark it as a spoiler if you do.
