Loyalty, coming soon

The sixth Death’s Handmaiden book, Loyalty, will be out next week. Not exactly sure when; the limiting factor is likely to be the cover since I’ve only just come up with an idea for it, and it’s a bit complicated.

In other news, I bought myself a present. It’s a 32″ UHD (4K) monitor for my graphics/gaming PC. It’s awesome. I should’ve done this years ago.

In other other news, I just got a marketing email from my ISP which says I’m in the top 20% of data users in the Wigan area. That sounds pretty major, but it’s Wigan…

  1. I was going to ask if you were an Athletic supporter, then stopped and though about it…

Yes, part of me is still twelve. 🤣🤣🤣

    • FYI, I’m not. I got the joke, and smirked, but I thought I’d clarify.

When I turned fifty, my parents bought me a sign. It still hangs in my office. It says “If you haven’t grown up by 50, you don’t have to.”
All the best people are still twelve at heart.

      • Glad I am not the only one who likes to act like a kid at 50+.

Life is way to serious most of the time these days. We need to lighten up a bit sometimes. (Just not to Joker levels, please!)

      • I look terrible in makeup. 🙂

  2. Gah! I still have to wait another week? Omg 😲

    😆 🤣 😂

  3. Huzzah! A new Nava story to read! Been waiting with bated breath (baited too, I have Doritos, pizza, and mint ice cream – other bait on request). In regard to monitors, I have a 40″ 4K (not UHD) TV that I use. Haven’t quite seen the need to go UHD, though it’s very tempting.

I agree on the “never grow up” concept. Life is too precious to be always serious and stern. Better by far to relax, have fun, and read your books (and others of course, but this is your blog).

    • Yeah, doing the final edits, which means reading parts of what I’ve written. And that means I want to write another one. I like writing Nava & Co. I just don’t have the plot for the next book worked out enough to start, so it’ll have to wait.

As for the monitor…For the graphics work I do, I was stupid to have not done this before now. OTOH, it would’ve cost me a lot more to do it sooner.

  4. You might be able to get a newer and more powerful GPU now that crypto miners are bailing out. Not one of the used cards. Those probably got hot enough to cook your steak.

    • A new graphics machine is next on the list. My current one gives slow a whole new meaning.
The new one WILL have as good a GPU as I can get, plus enormous amounts of RAM and vast quantities of storage. My 3D resources store is getting a bit silly.
      But that’s for autumn.

  5. Ohhh Awesome, a new Nava novel in just a week!

Btw,…. just out of curiosity….. Not hinting at anything…… Butt…..
Does that as of yet unfinished cover perhaps have any Candy-cane-pink in it??? I just so happen to still require a Candy-cane-pink book-cover for my 2022-colour challenge…. And welll……. Thought can’t hurt to ask? 😛

Ohh and congrats with the top 20% destiction. That’s quite the compliment the’ve given your! XD

  6. Good news about the new book coming soon. I am sure you will get the cover image sorted out.

Yeap it’s always great to get a hardware upgrade. Hope you enjoy the new UHD screen for years to come.

  7. I didn’t realize you are in Wigan. I’ve taken the Train from Manchester into there a few times visiting friends over in Hindley (which I’m just realizing I haven’t visited in quite a while!). He owns one of the local independent groceries there in Hindley. Small world…

For some reason I was picturing you up closer to the old wall.

Looking forward to the new book!

    • Well, it depends who you talk to. I’m in Greater Manchester for some, Wigan for others.
I com (originally) from Northumberland. Way closer to that wall.
