Someone asked for Tatsu with a CM1328… and this isn’t exactly that, but it’s something like. The CM1328 should probably be a bit bulkier, but that front grip can be unbolted to let this thing be mounted to a vehicle or tripod. It works.
Also, I hadn’t had a chance to use this environment model yet. It’s from Stonemason, one of my favourite environmental modellers. ‘Streets of Japan,’ it’s called. I feel like I’ve been there since it’s based on a Tokyo neighbourhood. Of course, the only thing almost as ubiquitous as the vending machines is the 24-hour/7-11 shops. Sigh. I wanna go back!
Thanks.
My pleasure.
Seems like it should be a lot bigger. The way it was described I was thinking something around the size of a M2 .50 cal – Vehicle mounted weapons don’t usually have ground portability as a concern.
It should be bigger. Maybe not .50 BMG big, but bigger. OTOH, it’s a coilgun firing 4 mm needles, so the muzzle might be a bit large. Swings and roundabouts.
What it loses in ammunition size, it gains in battery. Either way, was an epic scene.
I visualised it as being like Rambo with an M60 with a big magazine.
🙂 That’s probably how I visualised it. Or maybe Arnie in Terminator 2 with the minigun (without the zero casualties). Realistically, it wouldn’t be quite like that because the weapons are different in significant ways.
The street scene is fantastic! Impressive software (although I prefer the way Tatsu is dressed in your other image dump😉)
Forgot to add…
Unfortunately it’s nearly impossible to get into Japan right now for non-Japanese without employment passes. Like much of the rest of Asia. I’m looking forward to when these travel restrictions ease off again so I can do more than just transit through Narita!
Of this I am all too aware. I’ve been saying I want to go back for several years now. About all I can hope at this point is that I’m not too decrepit to go when they reopen the doors.
My first cousin lived in Japan before bringing his wife back to the states. He is about six foot three and didn’t fit the country very well. He started out working in electronic supply and ended up a buddhist priest. How’s that for a change of career. His dad was one of the first into Tokyo after Japan surrendered setting up radio communications.
I hope you get there again.
