  1. Huzzah! I was starting to get a bit peckish.

  2. Yay! I canz have my Nava fix! SWEET!!!!

  3. I can’t find this on uk amazon. Is the link broken?

  4. A minor point, I know, but perhaps you should consider updating your “About the Author” section? You’ve been saying that you “recently took the big step of quitting your day job” for a long time now.

    • A valid point. I’ll try to remember to update it for the next book. Whatever the hell the next book is.

      • The “what I’m working on” bits nice.

        “I’m not sure, but something”

        So “what you writing?” “Ummm…”
        Very honest

      • Thing is, I’ve started about five things recently and not been able to get very far. Hopefully, what I’m writing at the moment is ‘it.’ It’s called BAD_CODE. I’ll let you all speculate on what the hell that could be about.

  5. Fest after famine. Three of my favorite authors popped out new books today…Guess which I will read first!

  6. Hurray, a pleasant surprise for the weekend. Just finished re-reading the 3d book about a week ago.

  7. The β€œ-inator” references had me laughing! Reminiscent of Professor Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb (a fairly entertaining cartoon from the US containing a lot of humor references targeted to older audiences). πŸ˜‚

  8. Haha, ok also the β€œyes. yes it was.” response was similar to the Phineas and Ferb β€œYes. Yes I am.”
Makes me think you have watched to shows. I do recommend them in case you have not!

  9. Ha! I was debating whether anyone would get the ‘Phineas and Ferb’ thing. I used to be a fan of that show a while back. Admittedly, I had more hope for that than the other obscure pop culture reference I buried in this book. (Hint: it’s to do with a very overpowered anime vampire…)

  10. I’ll have to let someone else discover the other obscure reference as I am not overly familiar with anime vampires (overpowered or not!). Glad to hear you were a fan though. I used to watch it when my girls were growing up – I think I enjoyed it more than they did πŸ˜‚. At 78% right now, great book as always!

  11. Finally, after a long time the drought ended and we got a new Nava and Suki book. πŸ™‚ The story (is great), nice character and world building. All together a worthwhile read :-).

I hope there will be more of Nava, Suki and the gang. Maybe Jenna found a way to be somewhere else then on one of the helicopters and maybe she can find a way to way without being on the other side of the front lines.

    **** SPOILER ****

Nava genetic pattern should be known to the AFS and if the only reason for a pre-marriage test is screening for inbreeding then the AFS should be able to give Nava a clean bill without divulging her secrets and then Nava and Suki could get married.

The battle at the SAS school ground was epic and so typical Nava πŸ™‚

    +++ Hint +++

At one point (the Himura party) Merlissa call Misaki β€žMasakiβ€œ. I guess it is a typo and not special japanese term?

Thank you again for this light in a dark summer holiday πŸ™‚ and please please give us another Nava/Suki book soon.

    Best wishes,

Josh (who just finished the book and is expected to be gushing about) πŸ™‚ πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚

    • Generally (everyone), try not to leave spoilers in these book announcement pages. That’s a pretty minor one, so I’m not going to do anything about it.

It’s also not really right. If the AFS did that, it’s basically drawing attention to the fact that Nava needs someone to keep her DNA secret. Some investigative journalist would go snooping. If it wasn’t a couple of famous people, they might get away with it, but for those two, no chance.

I kind of thought I was really obvious about what happened to Jenna… πŸ™‚

      • I would really like to discuss Jenna, but after this light and rightful reprimand about spoiler I canβ€˜t. But I will try πŸ™‚ You let multiple scenarios open, even if one is more obvious then others there is no clear conclusion πŸ™‚

For the journalist I guess you are right, but maybe as a member of the IRD Nava got the same privacy protection as SWAT units today. But in the end it could be a vulnerability which could be exploited. 😦

      • There is a page specifically for you guys to discuss stuff I don’t want to see/won’t confirm either way: The Wild Speculation page. (https://witchesandrayguns.wordpress.com/wild-speculation-spoilers/)

It doesn’t see that much use, unfortunately.

  12. I look forward to your art screen dumps almost as much to your novels

  13. Really enjoyed this one, thanks! A little surprised a certain someone didn’t feature more prominently as an antagonist given the setup at the end of the third book, but something to look forward whenever you get around to book five in the series. It was also nice to see Carina become a slightly more prominent character. She’s an odd duck, but it’ll be interesting to see exactly where you go with her.

  14. Please tell me there will be more in this series, love your writing and characters.

    • There will be more of this series. Maybe after I’ve finished the book I’m writing, though I won’t promise that. I have the start of the next book organised, but it’ll need a bit more work before I can write the whole thing.
