How far we’ve come

Today, I bought a pack of toilet rolls at my local supermarket.

Last year at this time, there was a security guard at the supermarket, just to keep the toilet rolls safe.

We have certainly come a long way in a year.

  1. Here in the states demand in some places is reported to have crashed because of all the hoarding that took place when things went off the rails a year ago. Go figure…

  2. I never did understand that obsession with toilet rolls.

Admittedly I live on my own, but even a whole family can’t burn through them fast enough to need to hoard entire trolleys of the things, surely?

Unless they quite literally ARE burning through them.

    • What do you expect, the one thing you want to have in an apocalypse is plenty of toilet paper. Unless you’re one of those crazy people who enjoy using leaves. Once on my camping trip, one of my friends accidentally used poison ivy as toilet paper. You can imagine what happened after that.

    • I didn’t either, but then, I live alone too.

I think it’s a thing: in a survival situation (ha!), you grab toilet rolls and tinned food. Maybe the too are linked.

Amazing isn’t it that now we are flush with toilet paper, it caused prices to go down the crapper. Fortunes, wiped out. I guess we just got to roll with it.

    I’ll just let myself out.
