     TBH, it’s for me, so I get the distances consistent. I found a nice bit of software which can make them look pretty enough to pass on to you guys, so I’m happy to do so. They do make visualising the world easier.
     Now, the star maps I do for space opera you will never see. I build them out of small spheres in a 3D modelling program and they are just to give relative positions and distances. Not pretty, and they’d make no sense if I rendered them.

   I am reading The Empress’s Mage, and I find the artwork and the map very handy to visualize what I am reading. Thank you!
