Happy New Year

Well, 2020 certainly sucked. If you’re wondering what she’s shooting at, it’s the demons of the old year. They’re tenacious buggers. I can see them plaguing us for most of next year too. Hopefully, they won’t be too nasty, though I admit to not being much of an optimist.

Frankly, though, bring on 2021! At least it isn’t 2020!

  1. May the new year be better, then the old was!
MΓΆge das neue Jahr besser sein, als das Alte war!

  2. Happy New Year to you too and to all others here.

Fortunately, authors who write fantasy can just ignore what the year brought us. Authors of real-world-novels will have to deal with its problems in the future… How do you identify a bank robber, when all people were masks? πŸ™‚

    • I have to admit that, while walking into a few banks this year, I have been amused by the requirement to wear a mask when a few months earlier there would have been security guards swarming you if you’d done the same.
However, facial recognition systems rely more on the eyes than the rest of the face, so it shouldn’t be totally impossible to spot the robbers.

      • My bank has a notice on the front doors to enter without a mask and then put one on before proceeding. I found that amusing.

  3. Downunder the banks wanted you to take off your masks before entering. BTW Happy New Year. Sure was a quiet NYE night in Sydney.

  4. We are going to be loud here in the US too. Hopefully not actual gunfire and explosions but you never know, especially after what happened in Nashville on Christmas. 😦

Many happy returns and keep those books coming. They help, they really do.

  5. Happy First Day!

  6. I think your gal will need a bigger gun for those demons.

  7. What are you currently working on or is in the editing pipeline?

    • ‘The Empress’s Mage’ is away for proofreading. Should be released in a week or so. That’s a fantasy.
‘Sign of the Dragon’ is in the writing stage. That’s a cyberpunk thing which I’m hoping will replace the Fox books when they conclude (probably later this year).
