English Summers Are Awesome

So, last week I was cooking. Today, it’s raining. The rain is coming down at a 45 degree angle. I couldn’t actually say it’s cold, but it has cooled down some. This is summer in England: you never know what you’re going to get.

The Atlantis book is in the final stages of production. Should be out soon. More on exactly when when I know.

  1. I think it’s the nature of weather to be changeable and unpredictable despite out best efforts to make it not so. “Wait five minutes and the weather will change” is often bandied about in my part of the world. Sometimes it’s even true. I think the biggest swing I’ve seen so far this summer is a high of 65f to 90f (18c to 32c) from one day to the next.

    • Sounds about right. I was going to say ‘the sun’s out now,’ but in the time it took me to get to writing this, it’s gone away again. Oh, and it’s out again. The wind’s still pretty enthusiastic though. We’re due some storms this weekend.

  2. When people ask me what kind of weather we get during a British summer the answer is “Yes”.

  3. I had to laugh your last post complaining at the heat now the rain. I’m sitting here on Sydney and we are complaining that we are getting an “arctic” blast and the temperature is 16c.

  4. We’re supposed to hit a record here tomorrow at 102. But while I was looking I caught the forecast for Denver, Colorado, 98 high on Monday, 36 high on Tuesday. That is insane!
