  1. perfect timing as the crap weather meant i had the whole day to kill at home. Looking forward to 11 of course! Also hoping for another image dump of our new detectives and our class 5.
    Another great story.

  2. Poor Robbie the Robot, what did he ever do to those people?

Enjoyed the addition of Nebs and Mckenzie, they make good secondary characters with the human and AI partnership. And more teasing of Overwatch and who/what is Vali plot. Looking forward to eventually finding out whats going on there. Would be a kick if Overwatch decides NIX is corrupt and does something about it, or NIX doesnt free the Overwatch AIs and violates the law resulting in something going down.

Over all, another enjoyable book. A bit short but didnt really feel short. Many times a book that comes in at right around 200 pages can feel rushed and lacking in development or detail. The last two Fox books really didnt need to be any longer and anything more relating to the main plot might have felt like filler or just stretching the story out. I think the only way the books could have been extended is by some personal life sort of chapters. Like a Naomi meets the parents type of interlude. That has the potential for some comedy.

  3. My first thought was “Not another serial killer …” but you subverted the trope nicely. I also am missing some “private” scenes like the ones we had with Sam, Marie and Fox’s parents in earlier stories. This one was very – um – fast developing and finishing.

    • Generally, if that kind of scene isn’t there, it means I couldn’t figure out how to work them in, or couldn’t think of an appropriate addition to the story. I *am* going to do ‘Naomi meeting Fox’s parents’ at some point. Probably for Thanksgiving, probably in book 11 or 12. Currently I have 10.5 (off-the-major-plot novel set in Japan and dealing with the Fukui-kai plot), 11 (probably an anthology of shorter cases in unusual circumstances), and 12 (which is likely to finally wrap up the Overwatch plot). And that lot could take quite a while before I get to the end of them.

  4. This was a fun read and I especially enjoyed Fox meeting Tamia and the interaction with Fei. My only complaint is that it felt short and I finished it in a day.

Also any chance of getting the what I’m working on tab here updated? Thanks

    • It might have been a little under average, but half the people around here read my books in a day no matter how long I make them!
What I’m Working On is now up to date. Forgot about it again. I’ll add it to my publishing ToDo list; that should fix the problem.
