Liberty

The new Ultrahumans book, Liberty, is on the virtual shelves.

In other news, I have a new Fox Meridian book in the works, due out in December. After that, things are a little up-in-the-air. I’ve had an idea for something which happens to have come out rather close to November, so I’m going to do that for NaNoWriMo and see what comes of it. If that works, it’ll be the next book, likely in January or February. If not, I’ve got a new Sondra Drake story planned out; probably January to March, depending on that NaNoWriMo working or not.

  1. Someone was hanging on this post appearing. 🙂

  2. Amazon are being reasonably quick today. The ASIN is there, so some of you will be able to get it pretty soon.

  3. nothing yet :/

  4. Waiting eagerly but patiently-ish

  5. So I havent slept in about 36 hours due to insomnia and Im finally about to the point where I know Ill be able to sleep. And what do I do before I go crawl into bed? Absently click through my author page bookmarks looking at updates and see this. *bangs head on keyboard*

    • Go to sleep. I can honestly say that (barring apocalypse) the book will still be there when you wake up.

      • Apocalypse while passed out due to insomnia induced exhaustion was thankfully avoided. Did blow through Liberty on waking, and was another enjoyable entry. Got a kick out of the foreshadowed eldritch horror rising from Puget Sound, but I feel you missed an opportunity to show Andrea having a comic book nerd fangirl moment when meeting Lady Liberty due to her real world occupation. Would have been amusing since we dont really get to see her geek out like Cygnus does fairly regularly.

  6. I like the cover design. Is the background deliberately modelled on David Hockney’s work? It does remind me of some of his paintings.

    • I can honestly say that David Hockney was not an inspiration, though I didn’t build the backdrop (someone with talent for that stuff did), so maybe that was where they were going.
The ‘design concept’ was to have Miss Liberty highlighted against the sky, but also to include some more mundane features. It’s not exactly a scene from the book, but you could say it’s inspired by a scene in the book. You’ll probably figure out which scene when you get to it.

  7. page’s up

  8. Up on amazon uk 🙂

Have you done any other pictures of Ms Liberty?

  9. Read through it. I would put up my thoughts, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. I liked it though

  10. Oh that last scene was just evil since you’ve already said that you are burnt out on Ultras for now.

  11. The US link is to
    True Dark (Ultrahumans Book 6)
    and i get this tekst
This title is not currently available for purchase

    • Fixed. Sorry about that.

      • Now you just missing to fix

        True Dark (Ultrahumans Book 6)

      • I’m confused. Your link takes me to the wrong book on a site I’ve never heard of. The link above goes to the Amazon US site (where I can’t verify it’s available because the US site won’t sell to UK customers, but it has a price and is active).
Are you looking for True Dark? If so, the link is https://kdp.amazon.com/amazon-dp-action/us/dualbookshelf.marketplacelink/B07G6216G8.

      • I’m sorry I have not given a better explanation before now.
That is, I can buy all your books except this (True Dark (Ultrahuman Book 6)), I do not know if it’s a mistake on my part, but instead of a price, I’ll just get a page that looks like as the picture I’ve given you a link to.

      • Got you. And unfortunately, I don’t know why you’re getting that. The book is definitely available since people have bought it. I have seen this kind of thing before, but it was always unavailable to everyone; I was able to fix it by contacting Amazon.
        Two options:
        1. Go through Amazon’s customer services email and ask why you can’t buy it.
        2. Buy from Smashwords.
I’m afraid that both present difficulties. One is talking to Amazon, and the other is manually adding the book to your reading device, but it’s what I’ve got.

      • Now it’s available again

      • Yeah, well, it’s Amazon…

  12. Yes, that last scene was pretty evil. Also, two thumbs up for Sargent Quail. Enjoyed the book quite a lot. My Sunday plans thank you for smashing them to bits so I could lay in bed all day and read. 🙂

  13. Still reading it and enjoying it as much as the earlier books..

  14. So re-reading Ultrahumans. I’m at Liberty and I could swear I remember seeing art for it, but I can’t find a link to it now, here or on artstation.
