  1. It’s up on US Amazon.

  2. Good thing today’s a holiday here in the US. It’s unlikely I’d have gotten much work done otherwise. As always, thank you, kind sir, for continuing to entertain us. 🙂

    • I did not realise it was a holiday over there. I should have, but it hadn’t occurred to me. Tomorrow is the day you all let the sky know who’s boss. Happy 4th of July!

      • Thank you, though there are more days than not recently that I wonder how things would be if George III hadn’t been an arse and we all over here were still part of the commonwealth.

      • *shrug* Our prime minister is looking and acting more and more like Trump as time goes on. We actually have a worse per-capita death rate from COVID-19 than you do. All in all, I don’t think that particular historical event has made that much difference in the long run.
Look at it this way: the world’s going to end before New Year. What do we have to worry about? 🙂
        PS. I hope I’m joking.

      • True enough, but Boris at least has demonstrated that his higher order brain functions function, and I can’t help but admire the guy for going out in public looking like one of the tower ravens has been nesting in his hair. It’s a bold statement.

      • I need to remember that one. 🙂

  3. I seriously cackled for a good minute at the last line of dialogue in Part 1. Thanks for that I needed it. 🙂

  4. How do you pronounce SAS²? S-A-S-two, sass-two, S-A-S-squared, sass-squared, or something else? I get stuck on that question every time I read that acronym.

    • Given that Niall writes the two superscripted I go with sass squared in my head. If it were written as SAS2 – non superscripted – I would go with S A S two. But that’s me. Enjoy, in any event

    • I can’t stop myself says sass-squared, even though I think it should be S-A-S-squared. So… Pronounce it how you like. 🙂

  5. I was wondering about the title until I noticed that “Feedom” is missing an “R” on Smashwords…

  6. Great read as usual. Nice set up for the next book, whenever you get around to it. I’m sure that one won’t enjoy the Karma ala Nava when the wheel comes back around.

  7. I’m on my second read through, and noticed something I’m curious about. Vivienne Janvier Plank and Sara Janvier Sonkei. Was wondering if that was intentional. Not a big deal, but it was my impression that family names were specific to a clan since I think that’s the only time you’ve done that over the three books.

    • Okay, so that’s actually a mistake on my part. In my notes, Sara Janvier is a Sonkei in one place and a Plank in another. Also, since they’re in the same book, I’d likely have avoided having two families with the same name in different clans together like that – it could get confusing.

Having said all that… No, there is actually no reason why the same family name can’t occur in two (or more) clans. I imagine there are several Smith families dotted around the clans. Some of those families are likely to be from a family which split itself across two clans for some reason. (I see the Janvier family that way.) Others are basically unrelated people with the same name founding families in different clans.
What you can’t have is two families with the same name in the same clan. But the people in a family can be so distantly related it’s meaningless, so it’s like there are actually multiple families with the same name in the same clan.

I hope that made some degree of sense.

      • Makes sense, yeah. I only mentioned it as it was inconsistent with the apparent established rules. My brain loves to watch for and catch things like that and anything else that seems off to me when I read. I’ve sometimes thought about doing proof reading on the side, but I don’t think I’d do well at it if it if I wasn’t proofing something I’d want to read for pleasure. Being actual work would make it not fun.

      • My brain sees things like that whether I like it or not. 😦
Except, of course, in my own stuff. Or not until after it’s been published. Hence, I have a proofreader. (Who I cannot blame for the Janvier thing because the notes she’d see would show two different clans. I have a separate list of all the people in all the clans, which I messed up. Oh well.)

I suppose we should just call this further evidence that you are not an infomorph 😜

        …and that you’re getting old. hehehe…

      • I’m 56 this year. Though, this year, I feel like 96.
And becoming an infomorph is only my ambition. 🙂

      • Huh. For some reason I thought you were my age or a little younger. I turned 53 just over a month ago 🙂

      • Happy Birthday! 🙂
